About Grinders Pizzeria
Our concept offers Chicago Pan Crust and California Thin Crust pizzas in a refined format. Our Chicago Pan Crust pizzas feature our signature caramelized-cheese crust that heightens the flavor profile and crispness of the crust. This is not to be confused with traditional Chicago-Style Deep Dish! The California Thin Crust pizzas are where our name derives from. We have deconstructed popular grinder sandwiches and cleverly re-located their ingredients onto a pizza crust. Come in with an open mind and give them a try!

The menu/concept was created by pizza connoisseur and former pizza critic of the Chicago Tribune, Joe Irick and his adorable wife Amanda. We adhere to the philosophy that great food coupled with a friendly, attentive, and a wholly unpretentious staff will result in a very positive and powerful relationship with our neighbors. Grinders Pizzeria attends to all age groups throughout our business day; and we are family-friendly.
We make as many of our ingredients as we can in-house and purchase the rest from local proprietors. We’re aiming to change the way you think about pizza in SF!
